Comcast NBCUniversal is having into the startup accelerator activity with a application called Raise Labs for Business owners.
The system is to start the initial Raise (“Leveraging Innovation For Tomorrow”) Labs site in early 2018, in Philadelphia’s Comcast Technological innovation Middle, with an Atlanta site also opening next 12 months. In addition to the accelerator (which will be run in partnership with Techstars), Raise Labs will also include things like an entrepreneurs’ useful resource heart.
Comcast isn’t the initial media organization to build this variety of program for startups — Turner shut down its Media Camp in 2014, whilst Disney also released an accelerator with assist from Techstars (the application is now run completely in-home).
A Comcast spokesperson described Raise Labs as a collaboration in between Comcast Cable and NBCUniversal (they are both equally below the Comcast corporate umbrella) and reported it will target startups in media, leisure and connectivity.
