    IrisVR raises $8M to bring virtual reality to architecture and design


    New York Metropolis startup IrisVR is saying that it has elevated $eight million in Series A funding.

    The firm has created digital fact tools for the architecture and structure industries. Iris Prospect enables shoppers to consider their 3D strategies and blueprints and convert them into VR ordeals viewable on gadgets like Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, GearVR and Cardboard. Iris Scope, in the meantime, converts panoramic images into VR ordeals for smartphones.

    The firm is now beta screening its goods, with strategies for an formal launch right before the finish of the year. And even right before then, IrisVR claims it is found downloads from 108 nations around the world.

    The round was led by Emergence Funds, with the firm’s typical husband or wife Kevin Spain becoming a member of the IrisVR board of directors. Indicator Ventures, Pritzker Group Venture Funds, Valar Ventures, Azure Funds Partners, Locke Mountain Ventures and Morningside Group also invested in the Series A, which brings the startup’s overall funding to $ten million.

    In the funding release, founder and CEO Shane Scranton explained IrisVR will assist the sector shift further than gimmicks.
