Greg Mark talks about the future of 3D printing

In this episode of Technotopia I speak to Greg Mark, founder of Markforged. Mark a short while ago built news with his new steel printing technology that heats metallic objects in a microwave, minimizing the time it takes to make steel pieces by several hours. He believes that 3D printing is the potential, but not in the small-high-quality, stringy, and plasticky way we assume.

Mark mentioned that fast prototyping has gotten much easier and much better. As soon as you experienced to make a mildew to make a person prototype. Now, with steel printing technology, you can make a person to a person-thousand prototypes. The only periods you’d at any time need to use outdated production processes is when you need to develop a million objects, not mere countless numbers.

This means that it will shortly be significantly much easier to experiment and products shorter-operate products and solutions. Factories will have to modify as nicely when it makes no genuine feeling to cost countless numbers to print a few dozen prototypes.
